We can read about the woman with the issue of blood who touched Jesus’ anointing. When she touched the hem of His garment she was healed.
She did not wait for hands to be laid on her, she laid hands on Him! SHE TOUCHED THE ANOINTING! We do not have to idly sit and wait for God to touch us. The things of God are not going to drop into our laps like ripe cherries off a tree. Just as we are to pursue things in the natural, even more so are we to pursue God. Not just His gifts or blessings, but HIM. Everything we need is found in the presence of God. We just need to push through any and every obstacle that would stand in our way to get there. There is only one anointing and it is God’s. I am thankful that He has not left us to ourselves to try to figure things out on our own. He has ordained a way for us to fulfill the call He has placed on our lives. Whether we are called into ministry, missions, business, teaching, or parenting, God has deposited an anointing within us specifically for the task. Our dreams or visions may seem impossible, but we are not as far from the door of promotion as we may think. Jesus walked in His anointing to pray, to bring healing to the multitudes, to feed the hungry, and to deliver those captured by sin. It is God’s will that we walk in that anointing too.
Many people talk a lot about anointing — receiving it and flowing in it — but for your anointing to grow and increase, it must be validated and authorized. Someone may have a tremendous anointing, but if God has not validated it and it is not working under authority, it is not going to produce what God has designed for it to produce. It becomes unfulfilled potential. Sadly enough, unfulfilled potential is a common problem today.
