Relentless Receiving

His master said to him, ‘Well done, you good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. Enter the joy of your master. - Matthew 25:23 MEV

The parable of the talents was about a man who gives charge over his money to his servants in his absence. The two faithful servants invested the money and returned a profit to the master. The slothful servant, out of fear, returned only that which had been entrusted to him. The master was pleased with the faithful servants and promoted them.

But the unfaithful servant lost the one talent that he had been given. This parable gives us insight into how the kingdom of heaven operates. The men in this parable were not blessed by the master because of what they gave, they were blessed because of what they received. They were relentless receivers. We don’t need to limit our discussion of stewardship to money. Stewardship affects every area of our lives. As stewards, we are not owners; we are entrusted with the oversight of what we have been given. We will be required to answer to God concerning our stewardship.

God is looking for relentless receivers. You need to become faithful in your giving and aggressive in your receiving. We have sown aggressively but most of us are not receiving aggressively. It is not enough for a farmer to simply scatter his seed; he must also watch over it. You can’t just leave your harvest to chance. You have got to be just as aggressive in your receiving as you are in your sewing. We have a harvest to reap.

Notice in Matthew 25: 21, “His Lord said unto him, ’Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make the ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.’”

It was only after he received the harvest that the master said, “Well done.” A relentless receiver will pray and confess the Word over his seed. The reason it doesn’t seem to be working for some people is that they are giving but not receiving. The principle does work. Water the seed that you have sown in faith with scripture. Speak the Word over your seed.

Jesus came to give us benefits. John 10: 10 says, “… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Jesus gave us the model of how we should live: faithful in giving, relentless and receiving. Relentless receivers simply don’t know when to quit they are always looking for new avenues to sow into.

Romans 14: 12 says, “so then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

I want to have a good account when I get to heaven!

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” – Colossians 3:23

Choose to become more relentless in believing for your harvest. Pray and confess the Word over the seed you have sound and watch a bountiful harvest come in.
